Approx Age: 7
Archie is a 7 year old Bichon Frise cross. He was originally adopted from us 5 years ago but has been returned as the owners felt he was too much to cope with.
Archie is a fabulous little guy with bags of character and several quirks! He is good with other dogs and on a group walk recently at Dumfries House he was delighted to come across another Bichon and they had great fun playing together. He has a very high prey drive so couldn't live with cats or other small furries.
He loves a jaunt in the car but is only happy travelling secured by a harness and seat belt clip - a travelling crate is not for him. He enjoys his walks and takes a keen interest in the world around him.
Mr Small-but-Mighty does, unfortunately, have a couple of quirks. He is very much King of Resource Guarding and if he has (what he perceives to be) a high value treat or item then he morphs into a complete toe-rag! He will guard items such as pigs ears, bags of food, etc so this is a consideration for any potential adopter. It can be managed by clever manipulation but a head on conflict is much better avoided.
Due to this resource guarding behaviour we would not consider a home where there are children under 16 or any visiting children.
He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, assessed and neutered. His adoption fee is £300 which goes directly to saving the lives of dogs just like him.
