Meet Charlie
Charlie is an adorable 10-year-old crossbreed weighing 16.3kg, who came into Islay Dog Rescue through no fault of his own following a change in his family’s circumstances.
Although Charlie is an older gentleman, he certainly doesn’t act his age! He has plenty of energy and loves playing with his toys, chasing a ball and going for walks. He walks nicely on the lead and enjoys getting out and about.
Charlie has previously lived in a home and we have been told that he is house trained. He responds to his name and will sit nicely for a treat — although if you take too long to hand it over, he’ll happily give you a little verbal reminder!
Charlie does like to talk when he is in his kennel or when he wants something, but when out on a walk he is quiet and well behaved. He doesn’t react to passing people or traffic and can walk alongside other dogs while on a lead.
Off lead, however, Charlie becomes very excitable around other dogs and cats. He will bark and show signs that he would like to chase, so we feel Charlie would be best suited to a home where he is the only pet.
Charlie is an affectionate boy who loves cuddles, playtime and spending time with his people. And, of course, he is a big fan of his treats!
Charlie gets very excited when it’s time to go in the car and willingly jumps in. He travels well, although he will need to be safely restrained as he likes to move around and look out of the windows.
We feel Charlie would be best suited to a home without children, or with dog-savvy children aged 12 or over who will respect his space and give him the time he needs to settle into his new home.
Charlie would thrive with adopters who have the time to help him settle, take him on lovely walks and enjoy plenty of playtime with his ball and toys. In return, Charlie will reward you with love, companionship and the friendship of a wonderful canine companion who is full of character and personality.
He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, assessed and neutered.
His adoption fee is £400, helping Islay Rescue continue their vital work caring for dogs in need.
