Meet Henry – The King is Ready for His Castle!
Henry is a handsome Bull Type crossbreed who recently arrived at Islay Dog Rescue after being found as a stray. Despite his unknown past, he has quickly won everyone over with his larger-than-life personality and affectionate nature.
A friendly, happy boy, Henry greets everyone he meets with enthusiastic tail wags and a warm welcome. He absolutely loves fuss, cuddles, playing with his toys and being the centre of attention.
Henry is an energetic lad who thoroughly enjoys his walks. He's a pleasure to walk on the lead, paying little attention to passing traffic and remaining calm and curious around livestock. Whether you're exploring the countryside or strolling through the neighbourhood, Henry will make a wonderful walking companion.
He's also a clever cookie! Henry already knows basic commands such as sit and down, and because he's highly food-motivated, he's eager to learn even more with positive, reward-based training.
Henry gets on well with other dogs and could happily live with a resident canine companion following careful introductions. He hasn't yet been cat tested, but this can be arranged if needed.
Travelling is no problem for Henry either. He happily jumps into the Islay van and settles down without any fuss, making him an excellent companion for adventures.
Although he hasn't met children since arriving at the rescue, we believe Henry would be best suited to a home with dog-savvy children aged 12 years and over who understand the importance of respecting his boundaries and giving him time to settle into his new surroundings.
Because Henry was found as a stray, very little is known about his previous life. However, his behaviour strongly suggests he has lived in a family home before. While we can't guarantee he is house-trained, he has all the makings of a wonderful family companion.
The Islay team have affectionately nicknamed him "The King" because he proudly struts around the kennels as though he owns the place!
Henry is now searching for patient, committed adopters who will give him the love, guidance, and time he needs to settle into home life and continue his training. In return, he'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lifetime of companionship.
He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites and neutered.
Henry’s adoption fee is £400, which goes directly towards helping rescue and care for other dogs just like him.
