Meet Louis
Louis is a handsome 4-month-old crossbreed with a truly remarkable start to life. He and his five siblings were found abandoned in a cardboard box in Bosnia during freezing conditions when they were just 3 weeks old. Sadly, two of his siblings didn’t survive. Thanks to the support of Islay Dog Rescue and a local Bosnian shelter, Louis and his three surviving siblings—Lisa, Lily, and Lucky—were brought safely to the UK for a second chance at life.
Now thriving, Louis is a happy, healthy, and active pup. He has been tested for Brucella and has his APHA passport. He’s a fun-loving, energetic boy who is just beginning his big adventure and is looking for a home and family willing to support him through all aspects of puppy training.
Having never lived in a home before, Louis is not yet toilet trained. However, he’s already showing how clever he is—walking nicely on a loose lead within his first few walks and quickly learning the “sit” command. Staff and volunteers are continuing to socialise him and build on his lead work and basic training.
Like many shelter-raised puppies, Louis may initially be unsure of everyday household noises such as the TV or hoover. With patience, reassurance, and time, he will soon gain confidence in his new environment.
Louis is friendly with both people and other dogs. Although he hasn’t yet met children, his young age and gentle nature suggest he could live happily in a family home, with supervised interactions as with any young pup.
Louis currently weighs 8.5kg and is expected to grow into a small-to-medium-sized dog when fully grown.
He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, and his adopter will be required to sign a neutering agreement.
His adoption fee is £500, which goes directly toward helping save more dogs like him.
Do you have room in your life for this clever, fun-loving boy?
