Meet Marika & Lucia – Two Beautiful Shih Tzu Sisters Looking for Their Forever Home
Marika and Lucia are two wonderful 9-year-old Shih Tzu sisters who have been together their entire lives. Through no fault of their own, they recently came into Islay's care following a change in their family's circumstances.
They have been living with one of our most experienced foster carers, who has completed a full assessment and has found them to be happy, affectionate little ladies.
At 9 years old, they are still young for Shih Tzus, a breed well known for living happily into their late teens. They have many years of love, companionship, and cuddles still to give.
Marika and Lucia share a very special bond and will only be rehomed together. They enjoy their walks and are lovely on the lead, have healthy appetites, are crate trained, are fully house-trained provided they are given regular opportunities to go outside, and they travel well in the car. They're not noisy dogs, only giving the occasional sensible bark to let you know someone is at the door.
The girls are relaxed around other dogs and are happy to mind their own business, so they could happily live with another friendly, respectful dog.
In their foster home, they have shown an interest in the resident cat and enjoy a playful chase now and then, but they have shown no signs of aggression. For the right home, they may be able to live with a confident, dog-savvy cat, provided introductions are carried out carefully and managed at the cat's pace.
Marika and Lucia have never lived with children, so we do not feel they would be suitable to live with young children. However, they may be able to share a home with sensible, dog-savvy children aged 12 and over who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs.
Like many sisters, they sometimes have the odd disagreement, but they're never apart for long before making up and settling back down together.
These two sweet, gentle girls are simply looking for a family who will cherish them, spoil them with love, and treat them like the little princesses they truly are. In return, they'll reward you with loyal companionship, endless affection, and twice the love.
They are fully vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, and neutered.
The adoption fee for both is £600, which goes directly toward helping save more dogs like them.
