Meet Pancake – A Bright, Energetic Terrier Looking for Her Perfect Match

Pancake is a beautiful 18-month-old Patterdale Terrier cross, weighing just 9.6kg. Despite her small size, she has a huge personality, boundless energy, and a zest for life.

Pancake was sadly found abandoned in London and taken into the care of Battersea Dogs Home. As busy city life wasn't the right fit for her, she was transferred to Islay Dog Rescue, where she is now searching for her forever home.

As a typical Patterdale Terrier, Pancake is intelligent, driven, and full of enthusiasm. She has a high prey drive, so she will need to remain on a lead around potential prey animals such as rabbits and livestock. For this reason, she cannot live with cats or other small pets.

Pancake absolutely loves toys, especially balls, and is looking for an active owner who understands working breeds and can provide the physical exercise and mental stimulation she needs. She is young, eager to learn, and highly intelligent, making her an excellent candidate for training, dog sports, or even working roles.

She enjoys playing and running with other dogs in a secure area and may be able to live with one or more canine companions following careful introductions.

While Pancake is friendly with people, she is not particularly interested in cuddles and would not suit someone looking for a lap dog. Due to her high energy levels and strong prey drive, we are seeking an adult-only home for her.

Pancake can become excitable when walking on a lead, so her training in this area will need to continue. She is also quite vocal and enjoys having her say! While some of this may be related to kennel life, prospective adopters should be prepared for a chatty companion. Because of this, a home without adjoining neighbours would be ideal. A smallholding, farm, or rural property would suit her particularly well.

Pancake is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, treated for parasites, and has been fully assessed by the rescue team.

Her adoption fee is £400, which helps Islay Dog Rescue continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need.

Could you offer Pancake the active, understanding, and loving home she deserves?
